It’s a Family affair for members of Accrington Theatre Group as they return to the stage next month.
The company will put on a new musical for East Lancashire audiences, but with a familiar theme, The Addams Family.
Bringing to life the antics of the mysterious and spooky characters at The Civic Arts Centre, Oswaldtwistle, will be several couples and relatives.
Keeping it in the family will be couple Cathryn Osbourne and Josh Hindle as Wednesday Addams, the ultimate Princess of Darkness and Lucas Beineke, Wednesday’s ‘normal’ Boyfriend!
Kev Riley will appear alongside his daughter Brogan, as the hugely enthusiastic and totally incorrigible Uncle Fester, and The Showgirl – Addams Family Ancestor.
While Howard G Raw and his wife Wendy are at the helm as director and choreographer.
Howard said: “One of the reasons we chose The Addams Family is that it reflects the many strong family ties among our company.
“The Addams’ might have their problems with each other, they love to fight, but at the end of the day, they are always there for each other – under the glow of a spooky full moon.
“Of course, in real life, our family members aren’t quite so creepy and kooky.”
In The Addams Family musical, Dad Gomez faces his worst nightmare as daughter Wednesday has fallen in love with a sweet, smart young man from a respectable family.
And she’s asked her doting dad to keep the relationship a secret from her mother Morticia.
“Come and join the Addams Family as they invite this young man and his parents to their home,” Howard added.
“The show’s a perfect warm up to the Hallowe’en season, running at Oswaldtwistle Civic Theatre from Tuesday to Saturday, October 4 to 8.
“It’s a scream!” The Addams Family musical has been created by Jersey Boys authors Marshall Brickman and Rick
