Testimonials – What Visitors Say
I used to go to the market 40 years ago on the blue and red Accy bus from Clayton. Life gets busy and I changed the way I shopped, but over the last few years I’ve been coming back to the market more and more.
I enjoy the interaction and the quality is far superior. They remember you, you’re important to them and you can get things in the market you can’t find anywhere else.

You can get everything here. I’m Accrington born and bred, and even though I live in Padiham I still come to the market because I shopped here from my youth and it’s the best in Britain.
We shop for groceries and everyone is really friendly. It’s good to be able to go and sit down in the café – everything here is superb.
I’ve been coming to Accrington Market for 20 years or more. I like buying fresh fruit and cooked meats that don’t come from the supermarket It’s cheaper because I only buy quantities I need so nothing’s wasted. I live in Rishton and come to the market twice a week – it looks well, they’ve done a great job. They know you, it’s a personal service and I enjoy the banter.

I’ve been coming to the market for 20 years. It’s friendly, everyone talks to each other and as I work outside I can pop in for cheese and toast or a coffee.
All the food is fresh, the butchers slice your beef, chicken and pork for you and it’s a convenient place to come to.
I like looking round the market, I often buy things from the market for my great-grandchildren. There’s a lot of choice and it’s not expensive.
After losing my wife, life can be lonely so it’s great to be able to come here and chat to stallholders in an enjoyable environment.
I come because they sell everything – today I needed some feathers. If my children are ever making something for school, I can find what I need here.
The meat is fresh, the prices are far better than the supermarkets and everything lasts longer. It’s a safe environment.
